Spirituality of the Enneagram
There are many ways that humanity and divinity can reveal
themselves. Certain qualities
characterize those following healthy spiritualities. They act in accord with their true nature or real self.
Their perceptions are relatively objective and unbiased.
Their energy is expressed in a clean undistorted manner (as a virtue).
They possess an inner freedom and are open to all their experiences.
The Enneagram perspective suggests nine valid spiritual paths.
It is possible to mistake egoic or compensating paths for
authentic spiritual expressions. Certain
qualities characterize those following distorted spiritualities.
They are operating from their false self or personality.
Their perceptions are narrowed and distorted.
Their energy is expressed in a manipulative, addictive manner (as a
vice). They have an inner
compulsion and are closed to some of their experiences.
The Enneagram suggests nine caricature spiritual paths.
This advanced training will provide guideposts for whether
we’re on the high road or the low road, will offer ways of dealing with the
vulnerabilities and blind spots of each of the nine styles, and will suggest
spiritual practices for each style.
